About This Piece

Bronze depicting a robust-looking young man, standing, dressed simply in a cloth held at the waist by a belt. His face is well-built, his gaze fixed on the horizon. In his left hand, he holds a standard, partially extended over his shoulder, while his right fist contains a dagger.
The remnants of a cannon and its cannonballs scattered across the upturned ground suggest that the Patriot is encamped on a battlefield.
The artist's facial features and body position bring out the character's determination, valour and vigour.
The piece rests on a round brass base.
MWR" is inscribed on the back of the statuette.
