Contemporary Design

Red and grey goose quill feathers are attached to a hand-sewn lampshade to form a flower-like structure. The feathered ball is open at the top and bottom, and can be hung as a pendant lamp or staged with the cable dropping to the floor. The KUGEL RED-GREY is entirely handmade.

Since time immemorial, feathers have been a symbol of lightness and limitlessness. By nature, feathers are exceptionally dirt-resistant and durable. Under the right conditions, they can last for centuries—as demonstrated by traditional feather ornaments crafted by native peoples of the Americas and still admired in museums to this day.
