In good condition from a private collection Circle of Constantijn Netscher (The Hague 1668-1723) 17th Century Old Master Portrait of twin sisters and a puppy in an architectural garden landscape with putti water fountain, peacock and urn of flowers, held in gilt frame, relined, attributed to Netscher in pencil on the stretcher. (sight 57cm x 62cm, frame 78cm x 82cm). N.B. The successful birth of twins in 17th Century Europe was both rare, and celebrated. It is possible that further research might reveal the full identity of the sitters. Provenance: the estate of a Dutch lady, West Country, England, by family repute believed acquired via Anton Mak Kunst en Antiekveilingen, Dordrecht, Circa 1947/8
