About This Piece

Vintage Design

Elegant pair of wall lights with crystal glass on a gold-plated brass frame. With this light you make a clear statement in your interior design. A real eye-catcher even unlit. Designed by Oscar Torlasco, manufactured by Stilkronen, Italy in the 1970s.

Measures: width 13.4" in. (34 cm), height 13.8" in. (35 cm).
Lighting: takes three small Edison E14 base screw bulbs.
Condition: excellent vintage condition. Small, barely visible chips on the crystals.

Wiring: the lamp has been tested with US American light bulbs under 120v and works flawlessly, no tools or rewiring required. All our goods are originally wired for 220v.

About the Creator

Oscar Torlasco

Italian lighting designer Oscar Torlasco (born in Rome, 1934-2004) designed for a wide array of Italian lighting manufacturers including Esperia and Stilkronen, though he spent most of his career designing for Lumi.

Particularly active during the 1950s and 1960s, Torlasco’s lighting designs - which span sconces, floor lamps, and chandeliers - often utilized industrial chromed steel which he paired with more luxurious materials such as marble, crystal, and brass. His eclectic designs ranged in style from industrial and Space Age to Italian Art Deco. The use of optical glass lenses within his designs is considered Torlasco's signature. In 1959, he was awarded a Compasso d`Oro for his public street light Genova 4053 (1959).
