About This Piece

Vintage Design

Carved chairs in solid mahogany from the Restoration period, with an openwork back extending in the center by a vertical strip recalling the contours of a Greco-Roman column. A carved ornamentation in relief representing a laurel wreath accompanied by flowers and a ribbon, decorates this rectangular backrest with hand.
A solid seat with straps, springs and horsehair, in perfect condition, is covered with a beige velvet fabric. This one is embellished with yellow stylized flowers and has traces of use.
These chairs, whose mahogany belt is apparent, rest on two turned legs called "Jacob" in the front and two "sabre" legs in the back.
Authentic, this pair of quality bicentennial chairs will easily find a place in a refined interior.
