French Art Nouveau Majolica Plant Cache Pot by Onnaing, 1920s

Large French majolica planter cache pot by Orchies.
It represents a basket in osier with flowers. It has 2 handles.
The inside is blue.
So decorative.

In good condition with a slight defect on the edge and in the depths of the cache pot.
Bellow the cache pot, it is written 703.

Produced under number 665 by the Manufacture d'Onnaing, in the North of France , specializing in utilitarian objects, founded in 1821, taken over in 1850 by the Mouzin family, and which ceased its activities in 1947 with its 500 employees.
The Onnaing Faiencerie was founded in Onnaing, France, in 1821 by Charles de Bousies. During the second half of the 19th century, the Mouzin brothers bought the factory and ran it until the factory closed in 1938. It was nearly destroyed by the Germans during World War I, but production restarted in 1921. The factory made mostly Majolica pitchers and planters. Onnaing designs included flowers, geometric patterns and famous historical figures, among others. Each design had a number.
