Futurist tea set in brown ceramic by Enzo Bioli for Il Picchio. The set is composed of six cups with 6 saucers, 1 sugar pot, 1 tea pot and 1 milk pot. Made in Italy in the 1960s. The original signature is still visible on the bottom, as shown in the pictures. Founded by Enzo Bioli in the 1960s, II Picchio Ceramica was born. Bioli was known as a well regarded painter, ceramicist, and scenographer. As a painter, Bioli was influenced by William De Kooning’s abstract & expressionist art. These artistic themes are evident in this piece, seen in its sideways design and the movement it creates.
