About This Piece

A painting by the famous Polish artist Janusz Oskar Knorowski, signed on the reverse. Made in the technique of oil paints on canvas. A wonderful female nude in the style of cubism. The silhouette of the woman has been geometrized, slightly dismembered, thanks to which her physiognomy takes on a new form, but still remains legible. Bright colors largely based on primary colors and color contrasts.

The painting evidently draws from cubism, a direction in art, the determinant of which is geometric simplification and the rejection of the rules of perspective, in favor of searching for new principles of the spatial structure of the work.

Janusz Oskar Knorowski is a contemporary artist, born in Częstochowa in 1964, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He obtained the title of professor, currently he is a teacher at the Faculty of Painting of his alma mater, and the Faculty of New Media Art at the Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology in Warsaw. Nature is at the center of his interests, the artist transforms and shows its elements in his works, focusing on showing their structure.
