A bronze group with shaded brown and green patina, signed J.B Mêne, representing a group of deer.
The stag, majestic, neck stretched out, is bellowing in the distance. He seems intent on protecting his family, notably his fawn, lying in the grass in front of him.
Behind, a doe grazes peacefully on the meadow grass.
These animals rest on a bronze terrace representing vegetation. This is adjacent to a sea-green marble base.
Through this naturalistic work, the artist demonstrates his perfect knowledge of these animals.
The sculpture's sense of detail, expressiveness and imposing dimensions are reminiscent of the exceptional size of this mammal.
