About This Piece

Vintage Design

A very tall two-light ‘bras de lumière’ sconce executed in hand-carved and faux-distressed gilded wood decorated with bows and tassels, modelled loosely after Louis XVI period designs by Pierre Gouthière, France, and paired with typical Florentine metal arms, bearing gilt leaves and petals. They were made in Italy in the 1950s.

The sconce can be finished with decorative low-wattage bulbs, or with traditional candle shades that attach directly to the bulb.
