In this precious oil painting Salvatore Marinelli is inspired by the compositions of the Italian painter Evaristo Baschenis; artist almost exclusively of still life, he mainly portrayed sets of musical instruments, often veiled by a thin layer of dust, to indicate the passage of time. The interest in musical instruments is due to the fact that Evaristo Baschenis was also an appreciated musician of the time,

Here we admire a mandolin and a flute lying on a book below which we see some musical scores. Against the dark background stands a glass tumbler with a delightful tiny bouquet of flowers.
