SST016-2 side table by Stone Stackers Limited Edition of 5 products. Dimensions: W 48 x D 34.5 x H 46 cm. Materials: Marble base: Onyx ivory, marble structure: Onyx Jade green. Weight: 27 kg. This side table is part of a set of two pieces. It combines sleek lines and sculptural marble stone elegantly juxtaposed to the likewise-fashioned top and side marble offcuts. A functional sculpture playing with geometry, balance, and nature to elevate the look of any contemporary living space. The stone stackers brand is deeply classic and highly contemporary. The idea of reclaiming and re-purposing discarded marble into works of practical art is at the forefront of a global movement that champions conscious provenance and sustainability in design. The act of intelligently re-imagining the off-cuts of once ancient stone – by-products of the unsustainable quarry of marble from Italian mountains – and creating ultra modern pieces designed to last a lifetime is both an act of entrepreneurial creativity and altruistic environmentalism. The duality of old and new – of creating something from nothing – is further reflected in the real-world union of the founders, Paolo Ciacci and Shilpa Srinivas, along with their partner Simeg Marmi. Their individual experiences and common vision have given birth not only to a new enterprise, but an original interpretation of the eternal value and beauty of stone.
