This is a vintage country house sideboard. An Oriental, Chinese elm side cabinet, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1960.

Pleasingly robust and offering useful storage
Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
Chinese elm presents dark caramel hues and fine grain interest
Of stout proportions, crafted from thick stocks

Arranged as two pairs of graduated drawers with a central two-door cupboard
Fascinatingly dressed with a cast iron 'hairpin' clasp, the large backplates with unusual drop handles
Each drawer hosts shaped handles over rectangular backplates, the quality boxes crafted with dovetail joints
Standing upon square section feet to each corner
