Vintage Design

Sophisticated chandelier by Ercole Barovier. A rare and beautiful chandelier, the lower bowl is hand-opened horizontally ribbed clear etched glass, crowned with a series of 12 large, heavy leaves resembling waves with foam. To create this intriguing effect, the Puligoso glass that Martinuzzi has just brought into vogue was used. The waves have vertical ribs and are dented on the clean side. The upper level is the fountain-shaped shaft still in Puligoso, with a glass twist to recall the jets of water. There is a second stem in twisted glass and a ridged cap in Puligoso. All these elements create a perfect play of light. Barovier and Toso historians. The hardware shows a typical pre-World War II construction, with a wooden arm (after World War II it is metal) and holds three normal light bulbs (for the United States the sockets will be changed). Interestingly, the top features two small oven/refrigerator light bulbs with the original sockets. This is a unique and incredible chandelier. It comes from a villa in Ardenza, the residential area of Livorno. Looking at the sea, he saw the changes of the last century. Wear compatible with age and use. Slight deficiencies.
